Attorney-at-law, graduated with honorable mention from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO, with the thesis: “Violation of the principle of constitutional supremacy in relation to the appeal for review in contentious-administrative matters” (1998-2002).
Holds a Master’s degree from the University of Exeter, England, in International and Comparative Public Law (LL.M.) (2003-2004), with the thesis “Article 6(1) of the European Convention on Human Rights and proceedings for the determination of a tax liability”.
Active member of the Mexican Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, A.C. (AMPPI), from 2013 to the present.
Active member of the National Association of Corporate Lawyers of Jalisco, A.C. (ANADE Jalisco Section), being the Head of the Intellectual Property Committee of said Association during the 2024-2025 biennium, in which he coordinates the Intellectual Property Module of the Diploma for the Corporate Lawyer, among other academic and updating events.
Guest speaker at various specialized sections of the National Chamber of Commerce of Guadalajara, the Mexican Bar Association (Jalisco Chapter), and the College of Notaries of the State of Jalisco, among other institutions, addressing issues related to intellectual property.
He has over 25 years of experience in legal practice, focusing on intellectual property since 2005, and is a founding partner of Bufete Soriano ® Intellectual Property, a firm specialized in this field.
As a lawyer for both national and international companies, he has specialized in various areas, including in trademark litigation, patent infringement and nullity, protection of industrial secrets and famous trademarks, management of intellectual property portfolios in Mexico and abroad, as well as providing in strategic preventive advice. Some of his successfully defended litigation cases have resulted in precedents established by the Judicial Power of the Federation.
